The BookMark project sets out to invite suggestions of change within the design practice in regard to a finished piece of design challenging convention against polished work. The work invites people to come and make their mark on the book and then record peoples effect on a space and environment within the book. The finished piece (shown above) with mark-making equipment used, is a book designed with velco cover as to be stuck on any wall or surface with a strip of self-adhessive opposite velcro. This installation piece was a temporary interactive piece which was photographed, scanned and filmed to create a time-lapse video for two versions of the book. The work is not polished in any way and shows the raw essence of what people on the day were thinking and records there effect and presence, each obtaining a sense of ownership of the space from the project.
